When I became a Mom, Halloween turned into my favorite holiday. I can remember each so fondly. In 2020, trick or treating was mostly cancelled, but we had a candy scavenger hunt in the park, and went as Strawberry (Fabi), Milk (me) and Banana (Daniel.) Last year was another favorite, as Cat (Fabi), Mouse (me) and Cheese (Daniel.)
This year Fabian was in charge and we mashed his passions for Minecraft and Chess for our now annual “Halloween Chess Game” (see last year’s edition here.)
The imposter bishops were abruptly eliminated, giving Fabian a considerable advantage. Here’s a snippet from the game:
I don’t know how many more years Fabian will want to get dressed up—or even hang out with me on Halloween.
November looms ahead, with so much work and so many worries. But until then, I intend to enjoy every minute, and miniature chocolate bar.
If it were a "which item doesn't belong in this picture" puzzle, I think we can all agree on the broccoli. Cute costumes, by the way!
Warden will sniff out the tactics.
